Toshiba 40BV700 LCD TV Review

The Toshiba 40BV700 LCD TV gives you a 40 inch LCD display, 1920 x 1080 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio, 500 cd/m² brightness, 50 Hz frequency, LED backlight and Full HD display format. It is carefully designed for LCD HDTV lovers.

Out of the box, the Toshiba 40BV700 looks very sleek and stylish. Its smart contours and its deep black finish gives it an elegant design.

This 40-inch set boasts full 1080p HD quality videos. When talking about picture quality, you won’t be disappointed with the 40BV700. HD content on this TV is simply astounding. Motions are very fluid, colors are bright and sharp.

Standard definition, although lower in quality, is simply amazing on the 40BV700. Really, hats of to Toshiba for the amazing picture quality of this set.

You’ll find the Toshiba 40BV700 does so much more, too, with a USB cable which allows you to play back music and photos via your TV. The only problem here is that the USB function is not compatible with any video files. That means, you can’t watch videos via the USB port.

You can easily connect all your devices, including Blu-ray players & HD games consoles, via the HDMI connectivity. You can also view everything you see on your PC monitor on the 40″ HD screen via the PC input.

As for connectivity, the 40BV700 comes in with 4 HDMI ports, as mentioned earlier 1 USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack so users can listen to their programs without disturbing anyone, an S-Video port, and 1 Component video connection. Not bad. But not good either. It could have had more. But the 4 HDMI port might be more than enough for some.

Next is its Freeview support. Freeview provides an easy way to enjoy a whole range of TV channels and radio stations subscription-free. With up to 50 digital channels to choose from, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice. The built in Freeview is very easy to use through the 40BV700’s Electronic Program Guide.

Although an separate sound system is expected to get the full HD experience, the 40BV700’s sound is pretty good. Its not too loud, and not too soft either. You get the right amount of bass and volume. But again, a TV of this size, you should probably get a separate sound system.
